Pokémon is one of the largest multimedia franchises in the world, which began with two video games and a trading card game in 1996. The first video game releases for the franchise were Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green, which launched for the Game Boy in Japan. Shortly after, the Pokémon Trading Card Game was introduced. However, it wasn’t until 1997, with the release of the TV anime series, that the franchise truly skyrocketed in popularity.
Over the years, Pokémon has cemented itself as one of the top contenders in the video game industry. They have steadily released new games for several generations of Nintendo consoles, and now they have also made their mark across iOS and Android devices with games like Pokémon GO and TCG Pocket. The next big Pokémon game to look out for is Legends Z-A, which is scheduled to arrive for the Switch and Switch 2 this year.
In other news, Pokémon TCG Pocket has announced the new Extradimensional Crisis set. Also, the Pokémon GO Europe tour has been announced.
