The OG Prestige System was brought back in recent Call of Duty games, and then you’ve got people who prefer the more modern Prestige System. You can’t please everyone, but Infinity Ward has suggested that maybe you can in Modern Warfare 4.
The wait for the next CoD game is over as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is official.
You knew it was the next game, and so did we, but it’s nice now that the rabbit’s out of the hat. Infinity Ward‘s hat is very full, as the team has unveiled a ton of information about the next shooter in the series, including details on the most diverse Prestige System to date.
Prestige System Offers Two Paths in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4
We learned during the Modern Warfare 4 reveal that you will have two Prestige Paths to decide between.
The Classic Prestige Path is for those who want the old-school (sort of returning school) system that challenges you to unlock all gear again, save for the odd permanent upgrade you can’t bear to live without.
Whereas the Regular Prestige doesn’t require you to go through and unlock everything again, but you will get a shiny new emblem and rewards anyway to justify your efforts.
Prestiging also increases XP earn rates for your player profile, a nice bonus, and you gain access to exclusive Prestige rewards.
We’re sure to learn about more differences closer to launch, but we’ll enjoy the fact that Infinity Ward isn’t forcing us to choose one way or the other.
