Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls Open Beta Expands Beyond Online

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls’ upcoming open beta offers more than online battles, adding new content and major gameplay features to explore.

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is set to release on August 6. The stylized 4v4 fighting game from Arc System Works, the makers of the Persona series, offers a unique take on many of the legendary Marvel characters, including Spider-Man, the Incredible Hulk, Captain America, and more. The next open Beta is slated for July 24.

It will allow players to experience the fighting game with others online around the globe and will also provide access to many of the other major game modes, including the episodic campaign that drives the title.

The latest PlayStation Blog shares further details about the upcoming beta. 15 playable Fighters will be included. Among them will be Wolverine, Spider-Man, Doctor Doom, Magneto, Storm, Captain America, Iron Man, and more. In-between online, players will also be able to experience the lobbies. Lobbies come complete with miniature versions of the game’s stages, 16 avatar choices, and more.

Perhaps most interestingly, players will be able to experience episode mode. The open Beta will allow access to the first three chapters of the game’s campaign mode.

For the first time, players will also get an early look at Episode Mode. Play through the first three chapters of the Amazing Guardians storyline as Spider-Man begins assembling his team to confront a mysterious threat descending upon Earth. Experience how beautifully illustrated motion-comic storytelling blends seamlessly with explosive battles.

The beta will be available on PC and run from July 24 to 26.
