Thankfully, Arc System Works is offering just that opportunity, with an Open Beta scheduled for July, 2026. It’ll be the perfect opportunity to get to grips with the genre and see if it’s for you, whilst leaving you ample time to gather the funds ahead of a stacked September.

The upcoming Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls Open Beta will begin on July 24 PT and end on July 26 PT.
That gives you an entire weekend to grapple with the 4v4 tag-fighter and get to grips with a selection of the roster.

The Open Beta will be playable on both PC and PlayStation 5, and given its open nature, it’ll be free to access for all users, regardless of sign-ups or pre-orders.

As for where you’ll be fighting, you’ll be able to battle across six stages, including:
- Marvel’s New York (Day)
- Marvel’s New York (Night)
- Savage Land
- X-Mansion
- Knowhere
- Wakanda
Now for the playable content. You’ll have access to Casual and Ranked online matches, as well as Versus Mode, which lets you play against friends locally or practice against the CPU. If that’s too daunting, feel free to learn the mechanics of the game in Start Up Battle, the interactive tutorial.
If you’re after single-player content, then you’re in luck, as you can also experience Episode Mode, with the first three chapters of the Amazing Guardians storyline readily available. In between fights, explore the Open Lobby, where you can customise avatars, explore miniature stages and communicate with other online players.
