It’s almost time for Season 10.5 of Marvel Rivals, and the latest update is bringing the game’s Path to Doomsday storyline one step closer to its conclusion.
This time around, the spotlight is firmly on Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, with two new game modes inspired by the iconic Marvel films. For the first time since launch, Marvel Rivals won’t be adding a new character to its roster, with NetEase instead putting its focus on expanding the Path to Doomsday experience.
Infinity War & Endgame Game Modes Coming To Marvel Rivals
During the latest Marvel Rivals Dev Vision, Guang Guang revealed how the next two Path to Doomsday game modes will work, with NetEase once again shaking up the usual formula.
First up is Infinity War, launching on October 9. The mode features 12 players split into six teams of two, with duos facing off in 2v2 deathmatches across Wakanda.
Losing a round drains your team’s health, with elimination coming once that health runs out. Between rounds, you’ll also draft cards from a random pool to buff your abilities and create different builds.
Every team will also receive one of the six Infinity Stones at the start of a match, each providing a unique gameplay bonus. Defeat another team and you’ll claim their Stone, making your team even more powerful.
Then, on October 22, Avengers: Endgame arrives with a massive 50-player PvE mode. Players will battle across the ruins of the Avengers Compound as they take on Thanos’ army in what is undoubtedly the most ambitious event the game has seen yet.
Both events will also bring interactive activities to Times Square, while Halloween festivities are set to arrive alongside new cosmetics and two exclusive events.
