UPDATE – 2 minutes and 30 seconds of gameplay have leaked online. You can watch the gameplay here.
Insider Gaming has learned that screenshots of Kojima’s Overdose title have started to circulate in several private discord servers.
Sources provided Insider Gaming with the screenshots that were posted, which show Death Stranding’s Mama (Margaret Qualley) in a blue dress.
Earlier this year, I reported via TryHardGuides that Kojima was working on a new horror game called Overdose. After that report, Kojima Productions asked the report to be removed.
The screenshots appear to be from the same video which I reported on back then, suggesting that the footage is now in more people’s hands.
It’s unclear if the screenshots will publicly surface, but recently, the images were posted in a private discord server that is used by developers not involved in the project. The images were promptly deleted after several minutes, sources suggest.
Typically, content or information is more likely to become public when more people gain access to leaked information, images, or video privately.
In June 2022, Xbox and Kojima Productions announced a new partnership that would include Kojima developing a new video game for Xbox like “no one has ever experienced or seen before leveraging the power of the cloud”.
It’s understood that Overdose could be that game or at least a variation of it based on the known footage of the game having a playtester using a mobile device to play.
Towards the end of the footage, a jump scare at the end of the footage shows “GAMEOVER” followed by “A Hideo Kojima Game”… “OVERDOSE”.
Kojima Productions is yet to officially announce Overdose, but teasers for a new title, believed to be Death Stranding 2 are currently taking place by the studio.
Update – Polish publication ppe.pl has posted several screenshots of Overdose.
Due to potential legal action, Insider Gaming cannot post the screenshots.
