Keanu Reeves To Voice Shadow In Sonic 3, It’s Claimed

The secrecy surrounding the voice of Shadow The Hedgehog in the upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog 3 movie has had fans scouring for any information. Now, however, it appears we have news as Keanu Reeves is set to be the voice behind Shadow in Sonic 3.

UPDATE 4:45 PM: The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Reeves is, in fact, going to be the voice of Shadow.

According to John Campea, Reeves will be lending his voice to the legendary antihero.

“It’s done; it’s signed. Keanu Reeves is our voice of Shadow,” Campea said he was told by someone connected to the project during the recent CinemaCon event.

“I ran this to somebody else, and the first response I got was, ‘Who told you that?’. After I wouldn’t say who it was [the person] was like, ‘Yea it is’.”

Sonic The Hedgehog 3 releases in theaters on December 20, 2024. The six-episode mini-series, Knuckles, debuts April 26 on Paramount+, and takes place between the events of Sonic 2 and 3.

In addition to the movie, a remake of the original Sonic Heroes is in development at SEGA for the next Nintendo console. This information comes from reports by multiple Nintendo sources.

  1. That’s awesome it’s what everyone wanted. Here’s the question where do they go from here? Also is Christopher Lloyd playing Gerald Robotnik? Will Rouge be in this since Amy is confirmed. Who shows up in the end credits? Silver? When will we finally see a trailer?

    1. They have to sue Penders and clear that up he’s threatening to sue over the Echidna’s but the Archie Comics have way better characters than the IDW ones and if they stick to the games they’re limited because after Solaris it’s pretty much nothing the villains after we’re meh and the IDW comic only villains are no where near on the level of Eggman, Black Doom, the Metarex, Chaos, Metal, or Solaris. Hopefully Paramount sues and handles the situation then Scourge can show up or we get Sonic 06 readapted better where Sonic and Elise are friends then again the furry community might push for the romantic relationship.

  2. That’s awesome what would be better is a Shadow anime, SA 1+2 remade, and a new Shadow game from Platinum Games since this is the year of Shadow supposedly. Give us a new Sonic Riders too.

    1. Yes! If they can’t just hire Kamiya he’s available now and a ton of his IP are owned by Sega. The original idea for Shadow’s game was GTA they should have stuck to that but a Platinum open world hack n slash would be crazy. I want Sonic X back but a Shadow anime where they can be darker would be cool too the Archie Sonic Universe comics had some cool stuff with Team Dark’s adventures and Shadow’s clone Eclipse.

  3. Awesome now show us the trailer! The movie comes out this year. Also Drake Bell or Dylan O’Brien for Silver.

  4. This is the fan casting everyone had in mind! Now cast Melinda Clarke as Rouge and Christopher Lloyd as Dr. Gerald Robotnik. The only thing that would make this better is SA1/2 remade and a new Sonic Riders! Also Season 4 of Sonic X finally and the Metarex saga for SA3 and Shino Maekawa returning.

  5. So who’s playing Silver, Rouge, Blaze, and The Chaotix? I mean maybe they could set up the Babylon Rogues but that’s as far as I can see it. Omega I guess could just be AI. If Shadow’s here that means this universe is almost done. They maybe go back to Chaos and explore the Echidna tribe history for Knuckles all introduce the Chaotix, then maybe Battle could be adapted, Riders, then possibly a Shadow movie, Sonic Rush at some point or just straight to 06 and end it there.
