Before going to Worlds, Movistar KOI has already bolstered its roster for the 2027 LEC season by re-signing Joseph Joon ‘Jojopyun’ Pyun.
The Canadian midlaner has renewed his contract to remain in EMEA for another year rather than returning to North America.
Though he will return to his home continent next month for this year’s League of Legends World Championships.
G2 Esports claimed its 20th LEC title last weekend, leaving MKOI to settle for second place and second seed.
MKOI’s LEC Offseason Plans
Speaking on his stream, MKOI co-owner Ibai Llanos previously revealed that MKOI had given Jojopyun an ultimatum before the LEC finals in Nice.
Ibai revealed that the organisation was forced to move early because Worlds is taking place late this year.
The tournament begins October 15, with the Swiss Stage – which MKOI has already qualified for – not starting until October 23.
“Heading into Worlds without knowing what you’re doing for the following year usually ruins your offseason,” Ibai explained.
“It sucks, but you have to keep one thing in mind. Heretics have already made signings during the LEC. I mean, LEC hasn’t even finished and they already have their new mid laner.”

The MKOI co-owner was referring to the Sheep Esports report that Team Heretics has signed GIANTX star Adam ‘Jackies’ Jeřábek.
Additionally, Ibai also confirmed that MKOI will be sticking with Tomás ‘Melzhet’ Campelos Fernández as the team’s head coach.
This rules out the team signing Dylan Falco, who G2 surprisingly dropped for Luka ‘Perkz’ Perković earlier this year.
That just leaves toplaner Alex ‘Myrwn’ Pastor Villarejo, AD carry David ‘Supa’ MartÃnez GarcÃa, both of whom will see their contracts expire later this year.
