Envy surfaced in the Counter-Strike scene over a decade ago, picking up and running with several French players who would go on to make solid names for themselves in the esports space. However, in January 2021, the organization departed the CS scene, going out with something of a whimper after not having won anything substantial for several years.
Now, in an all-new report from Sheep Esports, it has been claimed that Team Envy is shaping up for a grand return. It was stated that the organization plans to resurface in the Counter-Strike space, absorbing the current 3DMAX roster that finds itself at the tail end of months of turmoil.
Fresh Chapter Ahead For Envy
In the new report from Sheep Esports, it was suggested that Team Envy might be slipping back into the Counter-Strike esports scene any day now. It was stressed that the route in will be via the beleaguered 3DMAX roster.
For months, pretty much anyone under the 3DMAX banner has been hit with serious admin issues, from unpaid wages and missing prizes to mismanagement galore. Things continue to deteriorate, and the squad under the label is seeking a new spot – and that spot might be with an organization once synonymous with French CS.
Months ago, 3DMAX failed to qualify for the Cologne Major, which was a huge knock to morale. The financial issues were already running rampant at the time, which didn’t help the PR image of the organization.

As mentioned, Envy hasn’t appeared on the professional Counter-Strike circuit for more than five years, but this year could see the brand return with a vengeance.
