G2 Esports added yet another League of Legends trophy to their collection after winning the LEC 2026 Summer Split.
The European team swept Movistar KOI 3-0 in a dominant final display during the Season Finals in Nice, France.
It now means that G2, as an organisation, has won 20 out of the 28 possible EMEA titles since joining the EU LCS in 2016.
Now, its star-studded roster will try to battle for the LoL Worlds 2026 trophy in North America.
G2’s Dominant LEC Season
Two years ago, there were huge question marks when G2 put its faith in Rudy ‘SkewMond’ Semaan and Lampros ‘Labrov’ Papoutsakis.
It was a big surpirse when the organisation parted ways with Martin ‘Yike’ Sundelin and Mihael ‘Mikyx’ Mehle after the 2024 season.
Yet, the young duo have repaid G2’s faith.
Earlier this year, Skewmond had a career-defining showing at First Stand, helping G2 sweep the LCK’s BNK FEARX and Gen.G.
And now, Labrov was awarded the Summer Grand Finals MVP after G2’s botlane dominated the final and the support did so on enchanters which he previously was known to struggle on.

The org also made another surpirsing decision this year after G2 dropped coach Dylan Falco for former midlaner Luka ‘Perkz’ Perković.
It was a ninth LEC title for Perkz himself, and his first trophy as a coach.
However, nobody is close to this year’s Hall of Legends inductee Rasmus ‘Caps’ Winther, who now has 18 LEC titles and a MSI trophy to his name.
G2 went through the entire 2026 season without losing a single Playoffs series in any of the three LEC splits this year.
