Team Liquid has qualified for the League of Legends World Championships 2026 after dismantling FlyQuest 3-0 in the Upper Bracket Semi-Finals of the LCS Summer Playoffs.
The victory was welcomed with great joy by LoL co-streamer Marc ‘Caedrel’ Lamont after FlyQuest released a video originally entitled ‘Did Content Creators Bankrupt Esports?’ which heavily featured Caedrel as a negative example of co-streaming.
Team Liquid make Worlds as Caedrel’s FlyQuest ‘hatewatch’ pays off
Prior to the start of the series, Caedrel laid his colors to the mast, noting that he was rooting for Team Liquid in the LCS contest due to FlyQuest’s co-streaming video.
Explaining the context of the ‘generational hatewatch’ before the match, Caedrel concluded, “FlyQuest is the biggest larping org in the entire industry… I won’t go more about it because chat says it’s living rent free in my head, and lowkey it has been, so now we hatewatch.”
And it was a very successful hatewatch, as Liquid consistently found engage angles onto FlyQuest in Games 1 and 2, resulting in substantial leads which Team Liquid converted easily into objectives and victories.
Game 3 took a different form, with FlyQuest able to contain Team Liquid in the early game, securing Herald, the first Baron, and Soul Point, before it all fell apart for FlyQuest when they were looking for that Dragon Soul.
A misjudged dive onto Rakan and Naafiri spent their engage potential, costing them the drake, the soul, and the fight, and costing FlyQuest their advantage.
Liquid did not look back as they converted Baron, before winning the decisive fight to claim the dragon soul themselves, before easily taking the Nexus to guarantee their place at Worlds, much to Caedrel’s delight.
FlyQuest will now face Shopify Rebellion in the lower bracket quarter-finals. If they progress, they will square off against their former Jungler Kacper ‘Inspired’ Słoma after Cloud9 unexpectedly defeated the Mexican org inthe upper bracket.

*The LCS has two slots feeding directly into the main event, with the LCS third seed qualifying for the Play-In tournament. That means the winner of Cloud9 vs Team Liquid will directly qualify for the Worlds 2026 main event as a guaranteed top-two seed.
Brazil’s CBLOL will decide the final two slots, with the split winner qualifying directly to the main event and the runner-up qualifying for the Play-In Stage.
