Jason Voorhees Will Slay Dead by Daylight Players From June 16

As reported on May 23, Jason Voorhees is headed to Dead by Daylight as an all-new killer, after a decade of fans asking for the slasher to be introduced to the universe. He’s coming into The Fog courtesy of a collaboration between Behavior Interactive and Jason Universe, and from June 16, he’ll be live and in-game.

Those in the Steam public test build can experience Dead by Daylight: Jason from May 26, but the global release is slated for halfway through June.

Below, you can learn everything you need to know about Jason Voorhees in Dead by Daylight.

Jason’s Power is Coming to DBD

In a recent press release, Behavior Interactive revealed that Jason Voorhees is coming to Dead by Daylight on June 16.

Senior Creative Director, Dave Richard, explained:

There was never a question that our 10th Anniversary Chapter couldn’t just be big – it needed to be something really special.

When we started to see a path to finally making this partnership a reality for our 10th, we knew then the perfect Jason moment had come. We’re just thrilled the stars aligned and we were able to work with the great folks at Jason Universe to deliver this for our players on such a major milestone for Dead by Daylight.

Jason bursts into DBD as a ‘machete-wielding maniac’, lurking in the shadows and bursting out of nowhere to decimate players where they least expect it.

His power is split into two entities: Omnipresent Evil and Improvised Carnage.

For the first power, Jason relies on stealth to vanish entirely from the map, moving at an increased speed and tracking survivors through subtle cues, then targeting dynamic environmental points like pallets, vault points, and breakable walls to shatter the atmosphere and reappear.

Improvised Carnage is exactly what it sounds like. Jason will lean on makeshift projectiles to brutalize players with devastating force, using ranged attacks to earn style points and stagger or pin survivors.

When he arrives in Dead by Daylight, Jason will come hand-in-hand with a string of outfits, including the iconic ensemble featuring a 13-holed hockey mask, machete, and weather-beaten clothing. There will also be the Backwoods Terror outfit, the Death Forsaken skin, which is especially violent and graphic, and the Depths of Despair outfit, reminiscent of Jason’s time in the murky waters of Crystal Lake.
