The Outer Worlds 2 is a highly anticipated game, but will it release on the Nintendo Switch 2?
Nintendo’s newest console is definitely on a roll in its early days by getting into a lot of people’s hands, but will you be able to use it to play The Outer Worlds 2 on the go?
Here is what you need to know about the platforms The Outer Worlds 2 is on, and whether or not you can play it on the Nintendo Switch 2.
Is The Outer Worlds 2 on Nintendo Switch 2?

No, The Outer Worlds 2 is not on Nintendo Switch 2, at least at launch. That said, it could possibly come over in the future.
When The Outer Worlds 2 comes out, the game will not be available on Nintendo’s hybrid console. Instead, it will only be playable on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
If you have a desire to play the game on the go, it will be accessible through Game Pass Ultimate, which means you can stream the game on your mobile phone, though that obviously won’t deliver the best experience when compared to your PC or television setup.
If you happen to have a Steam Deck or a PlayStation Portal, you could play The Outer Worlds 2 that way through those storefronts.
Will The Outer Worlds 2 Ever Come to Nintendo Switch 2?
As of this writing, there is no official announcement that The Outer Worlds 2 will ever come to Switch 2.
With that being said, it’s not impossible for the game to release there in the future. The original Outer Worlds game was initially only available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, but it was later ported to the original Nintendo Switch the following summer.
These days, Xbox is heavily in favor of putting its games on other platforms, namely the PlayStation 5, but Nintendo Switch 2 is also included. Call of Duty, in particular, has been promised to make its way to the Switch 2 in the future.
So why wouldn’t they have it available for launch? To keep things short and simple, game development is hard, and making a game that runs well at higher performance settings on more powerful hardware work well enough on a portable console takes time and resources.
Plus, there have been rumors floating around that Nintendo did not provide many development kits for the Switch 2 before launch. If that is the case, Obsidian might have gotten a very late start on a Switch 2 port.
