PvE Extraction Game ‘Incursion Red River’ Getting Massive Update Next Week

Games of Tomorrow has revealed the super-sized update coming to Incursion Red River, a PvE extraction shooter, next week. On November 4th, the game’s fourth major update will land, introducing sizeable new gameplay mechanics and ways to spice up your raids.

It has been a few months since the game’s 1.3 update, which landed in February and added a campaign run with voice work from the legendary Jane Perry. This new update, 1.4, is centered around in-raid immersion, and it looks sweet.

Incursion’s Extraction Adventure Evolves in 1.4

In a new blog post, the team behind Incursion Red River revealed what’s coming to the PvE co-op extraction shooter in the next major update, which arrives next week.

When you go into a raid after 1.4 drops, you’ll be coming face to face with heavily armed convoys roaming the map, some of which might be hiding extremely high-tier loot. You can take them on guns blazing, or you can call in an airstrike to devastate them, but you’d better work fast, as they’re guarded by aggressive enemies.

Airdrops are also being added to the raid ecosystem in Incursion starting next week. You’ll see airdrops land across the map you’re playing on, but they’ll be secured by AI forces pretty quickly, and if you don’t move fast, the riches within will be gone.

In-raid traders are also coming in, and each map has a custom vendor for you to find and interact with. The team explained the rationale behind adding them:

We mainly introduced traders to have an easier way to get basic items that are needed for hideout upgrades and repair items, but they also offer rarer hideout upgrades occasionally and rare loot specific to their faction.

Players will now have some extra insurance added in the form of a ‘secure container,’ a common feature in extraction shooters.

In terms of improvements, Games of Tomorrow has tweaked the medical system and made it more diverse, supporting the evolution with more healing items. Interactions and animations have been upgraded, contextual voice lines have been introduced, and new NPC models have been added.

It’s a sizeable update, and it lands on November 4th.
