Developer Arrowhead Game Studios graced the community with two new weapons in Helldivers 2: LAS-99 Quasar Cannon and MG-206 Heavy Machine Gun. They’re both powerful Stratagems, albeit costly, that can turn the tide of any battle, even against the Automatons, and here’s how to unlock and use them both!
How to Unlock the Quasar Cannon in Helldivers 2
Easily the more powerful of the two new weapons, the LAS-99 Quasar Cannon does have a handful of requirements to consider:
- Level 18
- 7500 Requisition
Furthermore, it is a Support Weapon, meaning it will take up your back slot, and its stats include:
- Call-In Time: 3 Seconds
- Uses: Unlimited
- Cooldown: 480 Seconds
There’s a catch to using the Quasar Cannon, however. While it’s quite powerful and capable of taking down heavily armored opponents, it does require a momentary spool-up period before firing to function. If you don’t time your shots appropriately, it can leave you vulnerable.

How to Unlock the Heavy Machine Gun in Helldivers 2
Next, we have the MG-206 Heavy Machine Gun, another Support Weapon Stratagem that may surpass the versatility and power of the Machine Gun. It requires:
- 6000 Requisition Slips
And its stats include:
- Call-In Time: 3 Seconds
- Uses: Unlimited
- Cooldown: 480 Seconds
I’m a huge fan of the Stalwart due to its high rate of fire and mobility, but a more powerful Stratagem could surpass that love.
