How to Find and Defeat Factory Striders in Helldivers 2

If you thought dealing with the Devastator was bad enough, wait until you meet the latest addition to the Automaton forces. Behold, the Factory Strider—a walking tank-like mech reminiscent of a particular vehicle in Star Wars, but with a lot more firepower. Here’s how to find and defeat Factory Striders in Helldivers 2!

What is a Factory Strider in Helldivers 2?

First and foremost, know your enemy. A Factory Strider is a four-legged mechanoid large enough to contain numerous Automaton units but with a laser turret on its front that proves devastating to Helldivers. They rumble and move slowly across the battlefield, making them walking targets for the perceptive Helldiver with a Quasar Cannon!

Where to Find a Factory Strider

You can find a Factory Strider in Helldivers 2 by turning your attention to the Automaton front on the left side of the Galaxy Map. They will not spawn on the Terminind side of the front, so don’t bother trying.

But it’s not enough to launch into any old Automaton mission. You must set your difficulty to Suicide (Level 7) or higher, with Helldiver (Level 9) appearing to spawn Factory Striders most often.

How to Beat Factory Striders in Helldivers 2

You have plenty of tools at your disposal to deal with the Factory Striders. First and foremost, I recommend dropping an Orbital Laser Strike. A single use of this powerful Stratagem is enough to topple the Factory Strider.

However, if you don’t have one, anti-tank weaponry, like the Quasar Cannon or Recoilless Rifle, can take one down in a handful of shots.

Alternatively, go for the big boom with an Eagle 500kg Bomb!

But remember: There’s nothing wrong with a tactical retreat! You can live to fight another day, Helldiver!
