You’ll quickly discover that Essence Dust is vital to your continuing success in Nightingale. It’s a resource necessary from the beginning of the game, and thankfully, it’s relatively simple to acquire if you know where and how to look. Here is how to get Essence Dust in Nightingale!

Where to Get Essence Dust in Nightingale

To get Essence Dust in Nightingale, you’ll want to extract it from various items in the game using the inventory. Select and drag any item you wish and then move it over to the giant ‘Extract’ box in the center. Be wary, however. It does not ask for confirmation. If you drop an item in the extract box, it’s gone.

I typically drop common items here. For instance, if you have too much Plant Fiber or Sticks, those prove most effective. You can turn a seemingly useless resource into a valuable currency that will come in handy down the road. You need Essence Dust for so much in the game, so why not toss in the trash items?

What to Use Essence Dust For in Nightingale

Once you have a small stockpile of Essence Dust, you can use it to repair your tools, weapons, and armor. To do this, open the inventory and look at the bottom of the left-hand tab, where you’ll spot the ‘Repair All’ button. It’s a lifesaver when you have a full hot bar of equipment and every piece of clothing equipped.

Elsewhere, you’ll use Essence Dust as currency with the Essence Traders spread throughout the various Fae Realms. Here, you can buy crafting recipes and equipment to help you progress deeper into the game.
