How To Destroy The Turbine In ARC Raiders—Turbine Compressor, Explained

The Riven Tides update has introduced a new ARC threat to ARC Raiders: the Turbine. Whilst it might seem docile at first, floating across the sky, you’re in for a shock when you decide to open fire.

And if you’re looking to complete the Avian Alarm Project, you won’t have a choice, as a necessary item is tied to the Turbine in a major way. You’ll have to figure out how to destroy one, but that means bypassing its almost impenetrable armor and arcing lightning attacks.

If you’re struggling to take them down and don’t know how to get a Turbine Compressor, you’re in the right place, as Insider Gaming has it all detailed below.

The Turbine is the newest addition to the ARC roster, and it’s a flying behemoth that won’t come down easily. You’ll need to employ a particular strategy to bring one down.

Before you begin to take one down, it’s important to understand the Turbine’s pattern. It will fly around fairly slowly, and on occasion, it will land, placing three legs on the ground and opening up its core, revealing three rapidly spinning yellow canisters—these are the key to destroying them.

When these are revealed, that’s when you want to strike. It’s pointless attacking it whilst it’s airborne, as the armor soaks too much damage, and you’ll be swiftly struck down by its defence systems, which include:

  • Deploying proximity mines in a large perimeter that explode when you get too close
  • Airborne missiles that shoot lightning down upon you
  • Homing missiles that will track you down before exploding

Instead, find some nearby cover and focus your fire on the spinning canisters to deal the maximum amount of damage; Hullcrackers have been found to make short work of them. Rinse and repeat, and before long, you’ll have taken down the Turbine, and you can reap your rewards: a Turbine Compressor.

Where To Find Turbines In ARC Raiders

Turbines aren’t tied to a specific map or Map Condition, but they only spawn in once a match has gone on for at least 15 minutes.

That means you’ll have to survive until later in the game if you’re on the hunt for a Turbine, leaving you even less time to take one down and extract.

It doesn’t seem like there’s a strict spawn time for Turbines, but you’ll know they’ve arrived by looking into the sky. Eventually, you’ll see and hear a huge re-entry up above, as the Turbine soars onto the map like a meteor. Once it’s spawned, head on over to its location, let it land, and pray you take it down in time.
