Map Conditions are a key part of what keeps ARC Raiders feeling fresh and exciting, as they can fundamentally change how a map is played. Not all of them are that drastic, though, and Riven Tides’ Beachcombing is a simple but notable Minor Map Condition.
Riven Tides is the biggest update ARC Raiders has seen yet, with a huge selection of content dropped at once. Whilst the new map and ARC threat are bound to steal the show, don’t sleep on Beachcombing, as there are some great rewards up for grabs.
If you’re wondering what’s different with Beachcombing, and you’re lost looking for the Dockmaster’s Detector, you’re in the right place; we have all the details below.
What Maps Is ‘Beachcombing’ On In ARC Raiders?

Beachcombing, the new Minor Map Condition in ARC Raiders, is exclusive to the new Riven Tides map.
Every hour, Map Conditions refresh in ARC Raiders, with Major and Minor Conditions shifting between the line-up. If you’re looking to jump into Beachcombing, though, you’ll need to keep your eye on Riven Tides, as it won’t feature anywhere else.

It makes sense, too, since you’ll be scouring the vast, open beaches in search of buried treasure. Buried City might have sand, but it’s fair to say the rest of the maps are far enough from the shore to be useless in this endeavour.
What Changes Will The Beachcombing Map Condition Make In ARC Raiders?

The main change made during Beachcombing is that you can uncover items along the shore by using a Dockmaster’s Detector.
Considering that it’s only a Minor Map Condition, it makes sense that nothing drastic has changed, but it does pose a nice chance to earn some extra loot. With a Dockmaster’s Detector in hand, you can scan the shoreline for hidden loot.
Be careful, though, as you can uncover some hidden dangers long buried under the sands. Don’t expect to find anything groundbreaking in your searches, but if you’re after some extra cash, this is a great way to do it.
Here’s the full list of changes made to Riven Tides during the Beachcombing Minor Map Condition:
- Buried Valuables
- Lootable Detectors
- Increased amount of Birds
Where To Find Dockmaster’s Detector In ARC Raiders?

Generally speaking, the Dockmaster’s Detector can only be found during the Beachcombing Map Condition.
However, to get your first one, all you need to do is complete the first stage of the Avian Alarm Project. Once you set up the bird cages by the buoys, you’ll be rewarded with your first Dockmaster’s Detector.

With this in hand, you can scan the beach on Riven Tides to uncover buried treasure, with some valuable trinkets up for grabs. Just roam the beach, and occasionally scan with the Detector. If it goes orange, you’re nearby, so check around that area until it goes green. Eventually, you’ll find a spot to dig, where you can find buried suitcases—and even weapon cases!
However, if you die with it on you or lose it for some reason, you can find more scattered across the map. As things stand, there’s no certain place that they can spawn, but you have to search during the Beachcombing Map Condition. It’s likely they’ll spawn in valuable containers, but it seems largely down to RNG.
