The actor who played Gustave in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has named the actor he would like to see portray the character on the big screen. However, there’s a catch. He still wants to provide the voice.
In 2025, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 captured the hearts and minds of players. The Sandfall Interactive title set a new standard for AA video games and what “independent” games can produce. A large part of that was due to the portrayal of the characters by the talented performers who gave voice to the story.
Charlie Cox Would Like to See Robert Pattinson in a Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Movie
Charlie Cox received critical acclaim for his portrayal of Gustave. Part of that acclaim included the game winning another Game of the Year award at the 2026 BAFTA Games Awards. Ahead of the event, Cox was asked by GamesRadar+ if he’d like to reprise his role one day.
Cox says he would absolutely be down for such a moment. Still, he believes that if the game were to be made into a movie, the part should be performed by Robert Pattinson, with the catch that he would still provide the voice.
“My involvement with this, as minuscule as it was originally and how it’s now expanded so much, has been nothing but an incredibly humbling and enjoyable experience,” he tells us. “So, yeah, absolutely, yeah. I was thinking that they should probably – if they make the movie – they should get Robert Pattinson to play the part, and I should do the voice. Because then they would have pretty much the exact Gustave from the game.”
There you have it. The “Twilight” and “The Batman” star now has the endorsement of Cox to play Gustave on the big screen.
