Whilst it was known that Guild Wars would appear during the showcase, it has come as a welcome surprise to many that Guild Wars 3 has been officially announced during Summer Game Fest.
It marks a brand new entry into the MMO franchise, with Guild Wars 2 having been the long-standing title that fans have flocked to since its servers went live back in 2012.
More Guild Wars 3 Details
Guild Wars 3 is being teed up as an ‘evolution’ of the MMO genre, with the trailer showcasing some new open world exploration, as well as combat that will ‘usher in an entirely new type of MMO.’ Launching on both PC and PlayStation 5, the beta will launch in the Fall of 2027, with an official release sure to follow.
