If you’re any kind of mobile gaming fan, you might have heard of OneState. This open-world RPG invites players to explore a game that’s effectively GTA 6 but on mobile. The game dropped into early access back in 2022, but in April this year, it entered a 1. 0 state on Android and iOS devices.
In a recent developer-led video, the future of OneState was revealed, with the developer’s founder, Matvei Lipatnikov, breaking down everything coming to the game. It might not impress everyone, but for mobile fans, there’s one hell of a massive update coming to the game.
OneState’s Biggest Update Yet Is Coming
Matvei Lipatnikov, the founder of ChillBase, the studio behind OneState, has divulged stacks of information about the mobile RPG’s super-sized update, which introduces the most significant graphical changes the game has ever seen.
The overhaul offers a genuinely impressive replication of real-world Los Angeles, and the update tweaks draw distances, textures, lighting, reflections, and much more. This change has impacted HDR, dynamic exposure, and parallax settings of buildings.
But it goes far beyond just the visuals, as Lipatnikov said:
This is way more than just a graphics patch. We sat down and rethought how you see OneState from the ground up.
Lighting, reflections, materials, models, textures… We needed all of it.
Weather has been adjusted, the skybox has been made more realistic, foliage has been overhauled, and character models now look ‘more realistic than ever’.

If that wasn’t enough, ChillBase has also created a new map in OneState, and it’s one that grows and evolves over the existing map of Los Angeles. It’s a hypothetical ‘snapshot’ of the near future, blending a technological leap forward with traditional, run-down areas around the outskirts of the city.
This new map is called LA 2040. It’s not some Cyberpunk stab at the world, but a near-future update that feels like an entirely new environment without dropping a sense of familiarity.
In terms of gameplay changes, OneState is getting:
- A crafting system
- A content creator support programme
- Upgrades to the in-game chat system and customizable profiles
- Several ‘gameplay features’ like fishing (already added, but an example)
- ‘Superseasons’ that offer unique, emergent gameplay opportunities
