Remedy Games released a launch hotfix for CONTROL Resonant, but it requires PC players to do a tedious task: download the game again.
CONTROL Resonant developers have revealed that the hotfix was released to improve the gameplay experience for players; however, it ended up “triggering certain platform mechanisms on PC.” Due to this issue, players on the platform will need to re-download the game.
CONTROL Resonant Launch Update Makes Enemies Easier to Fight
A brand new update has arrived for CONTROL Resonant, version 01.300.300 on the PS5, version 1.3.3.0 on the XBOX Series X/S, and 1.3.3 on PC, and it addresses enemy health pools feeling too high. The developers have now made it easier to stun most enemies and have increased the maximum Aberrant Strength and maximum Ability Strength.
The update also mentions Assist Mode, which gives players sliders to adjust difficulty and gain more control over individual aspects of the game. The cost of respeccing has been decreased, and the stock of Reset Items has been increased across all vendors. The first Resonant Boss Fight will also drop two ‘Reset Items’ now.
All CONTROL Launch Update Patch Notes
Enemy Health and Dylan’s Combat Strength
We strongly believe these changes will improve the gameplay feel and flow while still providing a challenge.
Depending on player progression, enemies can feel too tanky during the early hours of the game. To address this, we are making the following changes:
- Reduce the base health and required Falter (stun) level of most enemies, as well as the Dancer and Deserter bosses
- Increase maximum Aberrant Strength and maximum Ability Strength
- These strength increases follow a curve, with progressively larger increases towards the end. The more upgrades you have, the more damage you deal.
Assist Mode
If you want to tweak the game further to your liking and tailor individual parts of the experience, such as enemy aggression, incoming damage, or how quickly Dylan recovers his abilities, the Assist Mode is there for you in the Gameplay menu of the game’s options. You can use the sliders to adjust the difficulty to your preference and have much more control over individual aspects of the experience, even to make the game more harder if you want!
Respeccing
To encourage buildcrafting and experimentation, we are permanently reducing the cost of respeccing and increasing the stock of these “Reset Items” across all vendors in the game.
- In addition, the first Resonant boss fight (The Artist) will now drop two “Reset Items” instead of one.
UI Text Updates
We will also update a couple of English UI texts to explain Build Power and Aberrant Strength better. These text changes will be English-only for now, with localizations to follow as soon as possible.
- Aberrant Strength: “Multiplier X%” will now be: “Damage and Falter X%”.
- Build Power: “Calculated based on equipped Weapon Forms, Talents and Core Upgrades.” will now be: “From unlocked Combat Abilities, Aberrant forms/upgrades, Talents, and Core Upgrades.”
We will closely follow your feedback and make further adjustments as needed. Enjoy the game, take your time, explore, and let us know what you think.
