Social media is one of the most significant developments in human history in the last couple of decades. GTA 6 is about to go full board on the idea with the game’s own network of social media platforms and interconnected features, it seems.
Do you doomscroll and hate yourself afterwards? Do you cycle through all the different social media apps you’ve got downloaded on your phone? Do you love a viral memworthy video that you watch 100 times in a week, and forget about it the week after?
If any of this applies to you, it seems like Grand Theft Auto 6‘s social media network could be the one for you.
Social Media Will Play a Big Part in GTA 6
Now, we’ve referenced Brazilian retailer KaBuM! a couple of times recently, as it seems to have GTA 6-specific information that no one else has listed—such as GTA 6 having ‘Improved Performance’ and ‘More Stable FPS’ on PS5 Pro.
It’s unclear if this is a mistake or perhaps AI-generated; we’re not sure.
However, we’ll go on the basis that it’s accurate for now, and the store page says: ‘The big innovation is in the integration of in-game social networks: your character’s cell phone consumes viral videos in real time, allowing you to follow Vice City influencers and discover secret side missions through the networks.’

These details seem to be verified by the game’s Brazilian Amazon page, as well, which advertises:
‘BUILT-IN SOCIAL NETWORKS: Watch viral videos, follow influencers, and discover world events through the game’s mobile.’
As if we didn’t have enough social media in real life. Rockstar Games looks to have created its own addictive network, and we’ll have to see how deep this virtual hive mind goes.
