Anticipation levels for Grand Theft Auto 6 continue to rise, with there now being less than two months until the release, and XBOX pre-orders are breaking records for the company.
The Rockstar Games title releases on November 19, bringing an end to the long wait for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series, and GTA 6 is arguably the most anticipated game of all time.
While PlayStation heavily features in GTA’s marketing, XBOX is still lapping it up, with it now revealed that pre-orders are setting records for the franchise.
XBOX ‘Very Happy’ With GTA 6 Pre-Orders
The reveal came through XBOX CSO Matthew Ball, who was responding to reports that GTA 6 pre-orders are “heavily skewed toward PS5, making it clear that XBOX is ‘very happy’ with the situation.
Posting on X, Ball wrote: ‘We are very happy with GTA 6 pre-orders. The title is breaking records for XBOX, we expect even more records will be broken throughout the fall, and our internal analysis shows our share of pre-orders to be matching our share of the console market.”
That last point is significant, as it’s not surprising that PlayStation 5 pre-orders are coming in with a higher figure than XBOX, as the Sony console dominates a larger portion of the market.
It seems, however, that the analysis shows that XBOX pre-orders are around where the company expected them to be, and with records being broken, it’s nothing to be sniffed at.
There’s also still just under two months until launch, with plenty more pre-orders set to land in the weeks ahead, followed by a slew of sales when the title is released.
