Ubisoft has rolled out a free-play weekend for The Division 2 across all platforms as the team announces an upcoming test of The Division 2: Survivors, the high-stakes extraction mode. There’s some new DLC on the horizon in the form of Echoes of Central Park, and amid increasing player counts and a dense roadmap towards The Division 3, it’s a fantastic time to explore this post-apocalyptic shooter.
The free-play window for The Division 2 will run from September 24 to 28 and is available on PlayStation, XBOX, and PC (via Ubisoft Connect). Additionally, if you decide you want to invest in the game long-term, you can lean on a monumental 90% discount to secure the game for just a few dollars.
The Division 2 Free-Play Weekend Kicks Off
If you’ve never played The Division 2, you’re in for a treat this weekend. You can access the full game for free, either alone or with friends, and explore everything this third-person cover shooter has to offer. This is an MMO sensation with ten years of history behind it, and this year, things have been better than ever for The Division franchise at Ubisoft.
Player counts have skyrocketed as the team delivered a stellar roadmap, a legendary piece of DLC was unveiled, and The Division 2: Survivors, a full-fledged extraction-survival mode, is about to enter testing. You can take part in that test without owning a copy of the game, if that’s your kind of thing.
The upcoming DLC, Echoes of Central Park, promises to take players to a region never before seen in The Division series, despite the first game, released way back in 2016, being set in New York City.
Echoes of Central Park comes out on November 3rd, and it’s set to be the darkest chapter in the series’ history. It’s effectively an endgame mode that encourages endless replayability, with players entering an all-new zone and accruing more rewards the longer they can survive, while facing off against incredibly tough new bosses.
