Genshin Impact has added three new Local Legends in 7.2, further expanding the formidable foes in the Valiant Chronicles. Among these is the Elder Blighttree Local Legend, and it is also perhaps the strongest of the three.
While defeating the Elder Blighttree normally isn’t the hardest challenge, getting all three achievements for the Valiant Chronicles Rewards is. That’s why I have prepared this guide on how to defeat the Elder Blighttree in Genshin Impact and get all achievements in just one single run.
Where to Find Elder Blighttree in Genshin Impact

Complete the Let Not All Rivers Run Dry quest, which is part of the Citadel of the Ancient Fae questline. It should be triggered once you enter The Central Hub.
If you haven’t explored the new region, Novokitezhgrad, your chances of unlocking this Local Legend are quite low. Here’s the prerequisite you need to complete to fight the Elder Blighttree.

You cannot access the Crystal-Tree Grotto area without progressing this questline. After completion, teleport to the top-left Waypoint of the Crystal-Tree Grotto and look at the area below. The Local Legend will be standing next to the mechanism that you used in the quest.
Elder Blighttree Weaknesses in Genshin Impact
The Elder Blighttree is weak against Geo, Stellar, and Overload team compositions. You will have the easiest time using a Stellar team, and luckily the Cryo Traveler enables such reactions. If you can’t do that, any strong Geo or Overload team should do just fine.
How to Get All Three Elder Blighttree Achievements in Genshin Impact

Simply defeating the Elder Blighttree will give you the first achievement. However, since we are aiming for all three, make sure you are prepared for the next ones.
For the second achievement, you have to stop it from regenerating its Ward or Geo Shield while it is rooted. You will know the Elder Blighttree is rooted when it jumps backwards instead of towards you. While rooted, it will launch ground and air attacks, but you can avoid them by running toward the boss as soon as it jumps back. Don’t get hit here, or you won’t get the third achievement.

Once you enter the red field surrounding the boss, the attacks will stop, and you can break its incomplete Ward or Geo Shield using Geo, Stellar, and Overload reactions. You have about 18 seconds to do this, and the timer starts as soon as the Elder Blighttree is rooted. Claymore characters should also work, but doing reaction damage itself will help you throughout the fight.

If you break the Ward successfully, the boss will be stunned for 10 seconds. It will get back up with a Geo Shield right after, but that’s normal, and it just means the Local Legend’s rotation has reset.
I already mentioned you shouldn’t get hit by its attacks while the Elder Blighttree is rooted, but let me expand on what counts as a hit. It’s important to avoid both the air and ground attacks, and the best way to do that is to run diagonally and strafe towards the boss. Getting hit while protected by a shield also counts, and I would actually suggest not using a shield so you can watch your health and know when you get hit. As soon as you do, run it back and be more careful next time.
