Gameplay of League of Legends’ New Champion Locke Leaks

Locke, the next champion set to release in League of Legends, has allegedly had footage of his gameplay leak online.

Locke was confirmed as LoL’s next champion unintentionally by a Rioter in an April Fools’ tweet.

The Demacian character is expected to launch sometime in Season 2, 2026, which will take place between April 29 and August 12.

So far, the champion’s only appearance was in a motion comic released by Riot earlier in the year. Though his in-game appearance appears to be very different to the cloaked figure we were shown previously.

Locke League of Legends Gameplay Leak

Well-known LoL leaker ‘Big Bad Bear’ has released a video which gives an alleged first look at the upcoming champion.

Before this video, there had been rumours that Locke will be an AP fighter, played in the jungle or mid lane, who throws around giant ghostly nails like Nobara from the Jujutsu Kaisen anime.

And that rumour appears to be correct, as the leaked footage shows Locke throwing around a giant nail in what is claimed to be his Q.

After that, the video also shows Locke going into a second, even more ghostly form, which appears to deal AoE damage in a circle around him.

Additionally, there are spooky “sealed artefacts” which spawn around the map for Locke to pick up, but what they do is not yet known.

This ghostly theme likely ties in with the piece of lore we were given about Locke in the motion comic.

Speaking at a tavern, Locke receives a warning from a bartender who says:

“No one that goes into those woods comes back, at least not the same as they were.”

What Is Next For League of Legends?

It has been confirmed by Riot Games’ senior vice president Andrei ‘Meddler’ van Roon that only one new LoL champion will be released in 2026.

This is so that the publishers focus on developing ‘LoL Next’, a large-scale revamp for the MOBA.

However, Meddler has also confirmed that one other Demacian champion is receiving a rework following on from the Shyvana VGU.

Meddler said work on the VGU was “in flight” which has the community speculating that it’s for Quinn or Nocturne.

With leaks confirming a demon theme for LoL season 2, Nocturne might be the more likely option.
