Game Freak has announced that the current update cycle for Beast of Reincarnation is coming to a close, marking the end of the post-launch updates.
Launched earlier this year, Game Freak was a major switch-up for the company, most famous for its work on Pokémon titles, and changes are afoot for Beast of Reincarnation.
Beast of Reincarnation Post-Launch Update Cycle Ending
In a statement posted on X, translated from Japanese, Game Freak said: “We want to share that our current post-launch update cycle is coming to a close. Our next patch, currently planned for Oct 19th (final date TBD), will be the final patch in this ongoing phase of major post-launch updates.
“While frequent updates will be coming to an end, if you have any thoughts, feedback, or issues you’d like to share, please feel free to reach out to us or file a support ticket via the Fictions support website.”
Beast of Reincarnation released on August 4 across consoles and PC, earning mixed reviews, with a Metacritic score of 71 from critics, while the User Score averages to 6.2.
The end of the update cycle is not an indication of anything sinister though, and is more than likely just the end of the major post-launch updates, with ongoing support likely for any major issues.
The move comes ahead of a big year in 2027 for Game Freak with the launch of the tenth Pokémon generation, with Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves set to be released exclusively on Switch 2 next year.
No precise release window has been shared by Game Freak or The Pokémon Company, but the launch is expected to be at the back-end of the year, aligning with the releases of previous new Pokémon generations.
