The Pokémon TCG Pocket team have announced a sweep of changes coming to the title alongside the start of the latest series, including slowing down the rate of new set releases.
The free-to-play title is approaching the start of a third year of content and, just like what happened when the B Series in the game kicked off 12 months ago, changes are afoot with the C Series in Pokémon TCG Pocket.
However, these changes are arguably the biggest introduced to date, including slowing down the releases of new sets in future.
Pokémon TCG Pocket Extending Time Between Set Releases
Sharing an image with a lengthy statement on X, the Operations Team addressed the desire to “add new ways to play” alongside additional features to make “collecting and battling more accessible and enjoyable.”
Undoubtedly, the biggest change is the release structure, which is being shifted away from the current four-week cycle between new sets and extended to six weeks.
The hope is that it “will make it possible for even more players to enjoy building collections at their own pace,” and comes alongside the expansion of events and missions.
New Immersive Cards will be added that obtained when completing collections, while a special First Partners pack will be releasing which depicts partner Pokémon in each of the nine regions, which are opened by using Special Pack Stamina that recovers once a week.
Also being added is one-star Promo Cards, featuring “distinctive illustrations in a unified theme,” which will be added each week for three weeks.
Other changes include a new Community Decks feature, an overall to the Rental Desks, and Limited Battle Events, alongside making trading and sharing easier.
