You might mistake Frostrail’s train as something friendly, akin to the Hogwarts Express or The Polar Express, but the vehicle is merely an instrument carrying you from one danger zone to the next. Frostrail is on many radars, and you can experience it for yourself with the first playtest.
There are many survival games out there in the wilderness, but you won’t find many that are based around your own personal train. Frostrail was already revealed before the Triple I Initiative, but the first details on its debut playtest weren’t ready. They are now.
Tickets, please.
Frostrail PlayTest Making First Stop in 2026
FakeFish’s first Frostrail playtest begins on April 16, and you can sign up for it on Steam this very second.
Frostrail’s core consists of traditional survival elements: Hunting, looting, and upgrading yourself and your gear to better cope with more tumultuous conditions and threats later on and deeper into the game.
Let’s not forget the standout niche of being able to improve and operate your train!
The game hit 300,000 Steam wishlists several months ago, and the steam (pun intended) for it has been building ever since.
A deeper sneak peek at gameplay and playtest details can be viewed here, thanks to its Triple I Initiative trailer.
Fancy booking your one-way train ticket on the Frostrail express? Are you eager to pack your bags, board the train, and take part in the first Frostrail playtest? Feel free to discuss the game and anything you’ve seen during the Triple I Initiative over at the Insider Gaming Discord.
SteamGPT reportedly being in the works for Support and CS2 Anti-Cheat, and Xbox unveiling new improvements to Achievements are two other big news stories here at IG!
