Tom Henderson AMA

Hey Tom, thanks for the AMA!
Do you know if we'll ever see Sly Cooper again (either as the legacy games coming to current gen as a collection or a separate studio working on a new entry)? This question would also a.pply to the legacy GoW collection

Hey Tom,

You’re obviously very plugged into the games industry. Can you share a bit on how you got started in the industry and came to be an information powerhouse?

Just to be clear I’m not trying to ask you about your sources, just wondering how you built up your career into being a reliable journalist :)
I started off doing YouTube about 11 years ago now and did your typical Call of Duty news/pubstomping videos. From there, I randomly started speaking with someone who worked on Call of Duty, who fed me some information, which I then made videos about. As time passed, I moved from videos to freelance writing, as written reports are still considered the most "reliable" reporting forms. From there, I did CoD a bit more, which then led to covering FPS games (Battlefield being the biggest), and then it just snowballed from there, really. I don't have a degree in journalism or anything like that. I've made some stupid mistakes and learned from them over the years, and now it's the case of just making sure that the information is right no matter what.

Oh, shit. I've heard some pretty mental stuff, but it's usually about work culture and that sort of thing. Sometimes, you wonder if games are developed by professionals or teenagers with some of the stuff I hear.
thats a shame. you hear about these layoffs everything and realize its just because a 15 year old is making the calls at the company.

Any update on new Halo projects like the one from Certain Affinity? Is 343 Industries "on-track" on the future projects like the rumored Halo CE remake or Halo Infinite sequel/The Endless?

Hello Tom! Hope everything is fine.

I have just question, is call of duty moving again to jetpacks movement after 2026? Like maybe SHG starting to work on an Advanced Warfare 2?
It seems like they are repeating the same cycle from 2007 to 2013 at least (referring to the order of settings)

I dont know how this would work with Warzone itself sooo, idk if i have faith on this happening.

Maybe it's too soon to ask this, but if you know something at some point in the future about this it will be welcome for sure :)

There's no plans currently on jetpacks in COD again. I think it would be worth them resisting it though. I particularly liked Advanced Warfare and I think the change in COD would be good every 4-5 years, I just don't know how it would work with Warzone.

Call of Duty 'Saturn' is taking place in the near future (2025–2035) and would be including a new villain in a sequel to the Black Ops 2. On custom editor, it's far from done and yes, it will have round-based Zombies mode. The game is a continuation to Black Ops 6 in gameplay designing and follows that road, you'd expect open-world campaign missions, vehicles, aerial fighting and the game would introduces bigger maps than MWIII and BO6 while modern and futuristic weapons are also there.
For Xbox, it will be at least in 2026 and likely cloud-based rather than hardware – in case of handheld console – and reportedly is releasing
with CoD 2026.
On the Battlefield, Tom knows better than me but a free-to-play Battle Royal mode is in the development for beside massive maps to play in akin to Battlefield 2042.
Wait, you've heard from people working on Saturn? What kind of state is it in? Because I would be suprised if it's in a good state. And won't be a 'carry over' type game with BO6 weapons (which would be wack as fuck).
