A fresh update is arriving in Fortnite today, May 14, as Epic Games prepares for the launch of Chapter 7, Season 3 early next month, resulting in the title being available for some time.
Epic Games‘ schedule of regular updates to Fortnite every two weeks is a core part of the game, and following the latest update on April 30, fresh downtime is taking place.
If you’re itching for your Fortnite fix and want to know when the servers will be available again, Insider Gaming has all the details.
When Will Fortnite Servers Be Back Up?

Fortnite servers are down for several hours for the May 14 update, although the exact time they will return has not been confirmed by Epic Games.
Downtime on May 14 is expected to begin at 4 AM ET, and while the exact length of time the servers will be unavailable before hasn’t been stated publicly, previous experience provides an expected time frame.

Mid-season updates don’t have the same lengthy downtime as the seasonal transitions, though you should be prepared for that lengthy change to occur in the next few weeks. On May 14, however, expect downtime to last for around three to four hours.
Expect the Fortnite servers to be back up around 7 AM to 8 AM ET on April 30, though this is subject to change, particularly if any issues are discovered, and the best way to keep track of the server status is via social media platforms.
What’s in The Fortnite May 14 Update?
The Fortnite update on May 14 introduces v40.40 to the game, bringing the release of a new Act this season, and content to other modes.
Fortnite’s Showdown season will enter Act 3, titled Answer The Call, and will begin the build-up to the end-of-season live event, although this update is not expected to include assets for that, which will instead come via a smaller v40.41 update in a few weeks.
