Epic Games has responded to a claim on social media that Fortnite’s Chapter 7 Season 3 update has been delayed. In their words, that’s not the case, and they confirmed that if it were delayed, they’d be the first to tell people.
This claim surfaced after the Ranked Quests roadmap was extended to 21 June 2026, prompting many to believe that Epic Games was keeping quiet on a potential delay of Chapter 7 Season 3, expected to arrive early June.
Epic Denies Fortnite Season Update Delay
In a post on social media, the Fortnite Status team wrote:
Hey – Season 3 is not being delayed.
We regularly change end dates for quests internally for development and testing. please don’t take them as indicators of when content will end or become available, we will tell you if things change.
This post was written under a claim that gained traction, describing the Ranked Quests extension mentioned above.
In February, Chapter 7 Season 2 suffered from a lengthy two-week delay, which disappointed fans as it was one of the longest delays in Fortnite history for a new season.
Recently, Fortnite dataminers uncovered references in Fortnite Showdown suggesting that another delay could be lined up, pushing back the next major update by another two weeks.
Of course, Epic Games could be downplaying something and not uncovering a delay until it’s necessary to do so. Until that season is firmly installed by way of a download, you should always consider that such a pushback can happen. That’s the nature of game development!
As Epic said, they’ll be the first to inform of any such delays.
