Liquidnitro Games has onboarded a former Tencent Games CTO, bolstering a growing repository of experts driving this ‘AI-powered game production’ firm. Liquidnitro, an Indian firm, has raised almost $25 million in funding while working towards a goal of ’empowering human teams with proprietary technology and agentic AI workflows.’
Cedrick Collomb, former Tencent Games CTO and a veteran of Electronic Arts, spoke highly of the company, which claims not to want to replace humans with AI solutions, but instead to leverage AI to make them more effective developers than ever before.
Experience, Vision, and Understanding
In a statement, the CEO of Liquidnitro Games, Sandeep Kowdley, explained:
Cedrick’s experience, strategic vision, and deep understanding of where our industry is headed will be a tremendous unlock for Liquidnitro.
Our ambition has always been to build one of the world’s leading games companies, and the companies that define the future of this industry will be powered by exceptional technology and platforms. Over the last two years we’ve invested heavily in a proprietary technology ecosystem anchored by our AI-based agentic operating platform.
Cedrick will play a pivotal role in leading that strategy and making sure our technology helps teams build better games, unlock greater creativity, and deliver player experiences that resonate.
Liquidnitro offers a ‘world-class game production and live services studio’ that, as the team explains, ‘helps games unlock their full potential and deliver unforgettable experiences to players across the globe.’
According to the Liquidnitro site, the company helps with:
- Translating game ideas and IPs into profitable game launches through prototyping, limited market testing, iteration, and full production
- Geo-adapting games and live services to unlock new growth markets
- Co-producing games and live services to scale talent and optimize P&Ls
- Transitioning freemium games and end-to-end live services with full P&L responsibility
Cedrick Collomb, the new CTO at Liquidnitro Games, said:
I’m excited to join such an accomplished team, including dear former colleagues from EA.
Liquidnitro is a rare company where leadership genuinely understands that technology is a multiplier for game development. The team has identified real, endemic challenges facing the industry and built AI solutions that scale its combined experience and deep expertise.
I strongly believe Liquidnitro’s approach will transform the entire game lifecycle from creation, launch to scale and enable a new value equation for the industry.
Per a press release, the team wants to make game production, live services, and global expansion more predictable and profitable at scale, but at no point does it reference replacing human-driven teams with artificial intelligence solutions.
