Former Activision CEO Bobby Kotick has joined the Skydance Board of Directors, following the merger of Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery.
The new company was formed on Tuesday following Paramount’s acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, completed for a whopping $110 billion.
Among the board of directors for Skydance is Kotick, previously head of Activision before Microsoft completed its purchase, alongside the likes of former United Kingdom Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Quoted by The Hollywood Reporter via IGN, Skydance CEO David Ellison praised Kotick’s former leadership of Activision, which included decades of stewardship over the Call of Duty franchise.
“Bobby led a global entertainment company through three decades of sustained growth, and he brings real perspective on building enduring franchises and connecting with fans. His record of pairing bold strategic moves with disciplined capital allocation is exactly the experience we need as we bring our businesses together.”
Skydance’s 13-member board also includes the aforementioned Blair, Barbara Byrne, Andy Campion, Gerry Cadinale, Andy Gordon, and Paul Marinelli.
The newly-created company now holds control over a plethora of iconic media franchises across TV, movies, and video games, including the likes of Harry Potter, Mission: Impossible, SpongeBob SquarePants, South Park, DC, Mortal Kombat, and Game of Thrones.
The merger also brings the likes of Avalanche Software, NetherRealm Studios, Rocksteady Studios, TT Games, and WB Games under the stewardship of Skydance, many of which will be deep in development of upcoming titles.
