It’s not entirely clear if the user managed to get their hands on the game at retail before launch, or if they’ve managed on obtain a media copy and accidently (or purposefully) uploaded the content before the scheduled embargoed date.
Nonetheless, the footage is now live for people to watch.
The game was first announced back at The Game Awards 2022, but had been in development since 2020. According to the game’s composer, the script had to be reworked because Hideo Kojima found that people were liking the game too much during early testing. Kojima reportedly wanted to make the game more polarizing and evoke more emotion.
As for what the game will received for its Metacritic rating is unclear, but Kojima’s games have generally been rated pretty well. We expect the game to be placed in the high 80s.
For pricing, the Standard Edition will cost $69.99, the Digital Deluxe Edition runs for $79.99, and the Collectors Edition is priced at $229.99.
