Death Stranding 2: On the Beach launches on June 26, and the game’s file size for PlayStation 5 has been made public.
First shared by PlayStation Game Size, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach comes in at 91.476GB. That’s nearly double the 55GB of the original Death Stranding from 2019.
In addition to the file size, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is now available to preload ahead of its release.
The follow-up to the aforementioned Death Stranding, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach sees Sam Bridges return to try and prevent human extinction. In the latest from Kojima Productions, players must work to connect Australia to the Chiral Network.

“Navigate a living environment through day and night cycles, natural disasters including earthquakes, sandstorms and forest fires, and Timefall – a rain that instantly ages everything it touches,” the game’s description reads. “To traverse this dangerous landscape, you’ll need to build new types of infrastructure, master specialized equipment, and confront (or evade) the otherworldly creatures that roam the fractured world.”
The game was first announced back at The Game Awards 2022, but had been in development since 2020. According to the game’s composer, the script had to be reworked because Hideo Kojima found that people were liking the game too much during early testing. Kojima reportedly wanted to make the game more polarizing and evoke more emotion.
