It has been claimed in an ‘exclusive report’ from a South Korean outlet that Crimson Desert, Pearl Abyss’ highly anticipated open-world action title, will be released on November 2, 2025. The report claims that the date came from an interview with Pearl Abyss team members, and it referenced that it’s a ‘tentative’ release date as the game approaches the final stages of development.
UPDATE (June 18): In a statement given to Insider Gaming, Pearl Abyss says the release date claims were the result of a translation error, and are not accurate.
Whether this is true remains to be seen, so take this with a pinch of salt. What’s most concerning about this claim is that November 2 is a Sunday, and that makes it relatively unlikely it’ll launch then.
Coming Soon?
Crimson Desert has been floating around for quite some time, with developer Pearl Abyss regularly dropping new tidbits and trailers at most major events. Recently, the game was playable at the Summer Game Fest event in Los Angeles.
One thing that has eluded prospective fans so far is a Crimson Desert release date, but recent claims from one South Korean outlet may have changed that. In a recent ‘exclusive’ from MTN, it was suggested that Crimson Desert is targeting a tentative release date of November 2, 2025:
Pearl Abyss’ highly anticipated ‘Crimson Desert’ is scheduled to be released on November 2nd. Some speculated that the release could be pushed back to 2026, but it will be released as originally planned in the fourth quarter of this year. The release of ‘GTA6’ was postponed to next year, so attention is focused on whether ‘Crimson Desert’ will be able to take the GOTY (Game of the Year) award.
(Thanks to PCGamesN for the OG spot)
Most recently, in December 2024, it was suggested that Pearl Abyss would release Crimson Desert ‘at the end of 2025’, so that gels with what MTN has ‘been told’.
There were high hopes that the Crimson Desert release date would be shown during the Summer Game Fest showcase, but that wasn’t the case.
