Battlefield 6 launches on October 10, but that doesn’t mean EA isn’t already planning what’s next. In a pre-launch community update, EA and Battlefield Studios appeared to hint at the addition of naval warfare coming to Battlefield 6 after release.
The update, shared on Twitter on Monday, outlined several changes arriving at launch along with developer responses to player feedback. When discussing what’s planned beyond Season 1, which begins October 28, EA made one statement that stood out.
“…requests for naval warfare have not gone unnoticed, nor have the calls for a certain fan-favorite little helicopter, platoons, and more,” the developers said, adding that Battlefield 6 will have “more content” than any other Battlefield title.
While that was the only mention of potential naval combat, the fact that they included it could be a telling sign for plans for the game. Battlefield 1 was the last game in the series to feature battles at sea, making the potential addition exciting for long-time fans of the series.
In the short term, Battlefield 6’s free-to-play Battle Royale mode will launch on October 28 alongside Season 1 of the game. Included in Season 1 will be new maps, weapons, events, and more.

Lots of cool stuff but I won’t partake in a freshly venture capital buyout. EA is already terrible and this will end EA with a 20 billion debt it will never escape. EA will be sold off and everything will do away. No point in spending any money with them anymore, final.nail in the coffin has been struck
Please just leave the little bird out…
