Battlefield 6’s new Battle Royale game mode is reportedly targeting an October 28th, 2025, release date, according to a new rumor.
That’s according to ModernWarzone, who has previously leaked details for games such as Call of Duty and Battlefield. According to the account, Battlefield 6 Battle Royale is currently planned to launch on October 28th, 18 days after the launch of the game.
As mentioned, this date is currently subject to change due to the game being presently undergoing playtesting in Battlefield Labs. However, at face value, launching so close to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is an interesting choice.
Battlefield vs Call of Duty
As of the time of writing, Battlefield 6 is currently scheduled to release on October 10, 2025, with, if the rumours are true, its Battle Royale game mode by Ripple Effect launching just 18 days later. That date makes sense if they want to launch Season 1 of content with the new mode, but it is a massive risk for EA to take because of Call of Duty, which launches only a few weeks later on November 14.
That means if the Battle Royale isn’t good, or it’s buggy or not full of content, a lot of the player base could move over to Call of Duty when it releases.
The better choice here (in my humble opinion), would be to release Battle 6’s Battle Royale after Call of Duty, even if it means at the beginning of December. A release before Call of Duty by a matter of weeks could see the mode see the same fate as Titanfall 2, which notoriously failed to meet EA’s expectations, mostly in part because it released alongside Battlefield 1 and Infinite Warfare.
