Sam Fisher returns in a new trailer for Netflix’s newest animated adaptation: Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Deathwatch.
Announced in July 2020, Splinter Cell: Deathwath continues the story of an old Sam Fisher, the protagonist of the series. With The Wolverine’s Liev Schreiber donning the night vision goggles, the Netflix animated series is set to release on October 14th, 2025. We did get a teaser in August, but a new trailer has been released and gives us a new look at the action-packed title.
Sam Fisher Returns In Style in New Splinter Cell: Deathwatch Trailer
The trailer, seen above, shows off the deadly skills of Sam Fisher. Seeing as Derek Kolstad, creator of John Wick, is developing the show, the action is top-notch. Sporting a unique animation style, the adult animation series takes a 2D-3D approach, making the combat feel more realistic. While story details are minimal, we know that Sam Fisher will be teaming up with a new Splinter Cell agent named Zinnia McKenna. Zinnia is being voiced by Kirby Howell-Baptiste, known for her roles in The Sandman and Killing Eve.
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell has been due for a new entry in quite some time. Last releasing in 2013, fans have been anxious to see Sam Fisher return to the spotlight for years. A remake was in development, but no news has come about since 2021, so it’s unknown if it’s still in production. Still, Splinter Cell: Deathwatch may scratch that espionage itch fans have been asking for, even if it’s a show.
