Techland has revealed some stats from the first year of Dying Light: The Beast amid a special anniversary event that’s unfolding in-game. In the numbers, they revealed that players have eliminated a staggering 8.6 billion enemies – including undead shamblers, vicious mutants, and human combatants.
That means that, in the last twelve months, players have wiped out the entire human race and then some, throwing in an extra 300 million kills for good measure. The team also revealed that one billion quests have been completed, so fans have been busy.
The Beast is Strong in These Numbers
Techland has been laying out a one-year platter for Dying Light: The Beast players, setting up community challenges, exclusive rewards, and gameplay boosts that are changing the world of Castor Woods.
In a new graphic posted on social media dubbed ‘Unfolded’, the team confirmed that:
- 52 million sessions have been played
- 11,000 years of gameplay time have been racked up
- 345 million Beast Mode activations have been started
- 1.7 million players have participated in cooperative gameplay
- 39 million player deaths have been recorded
The most effective enemy of the player base is the Volatile creature, which has proven to be the most common cause of death in Dying Light: The Beast.

There was a smattering of other items to spool through, including that the most-crafted item out of everything wasn’t lockpicks or healing bandages, but repair kits. Additionally, since Restored Land dropped in March, flashlights have been recharged more than six million times.
