It has been an entire year since Dying Light: The Beast blessed the post-apocalyptic gaming space, bringing about the first game in what could be dubbed a new generation of the legendary zombie series. It reintroduced Kyle Crane, ten years after the first game came out, and it set up an evolution of the story that indicates where we go from here.
Now that the game’s first anniversary has arrived, Techland is preparing to celebrate with an all-new physical edition of the game, which includes a version bustling with collectible items. The team has also organized three weeks of content, exclusive drops, and a massive sale.
What a time to be a Dying Light fan.
Dying Light: The Beast Roars Back Into Action
One year ago, I reviewed Dying Light: The Beast and afforded it top marks. It was my game of the year, and since it hit the market, it has only gotten much better. In March, Techland released a major update and a new ‘version’ of the game called Restored Land, which invited users to literally clean the in-game map of all those nasty zombies.
The only blip in the roadmap came in July, when Techland announced that Dying Light: The Beast would no longer be launching on XBOX One or PlayStation 4, almost a year after promising it would.
But now, it’s the upswing. Techland has announced a slate of content, activities, and, most importantly, an incredible physical edition of Dying Light: The Beast, all to celebrate the game’s first anniversary.
Super Rare Games has stepped up to provide the new physical edition of Dying Light: The Beast, which includes a hefty stack of goodies, provided you purchase the Anniversary Edition:
- Physical game
- Anniversary box
- Stickers (including glow-in-the-dark stickers)
- A4 hardcover artbook
- Woven patch
- Poster
- Pins
- Physical map
- Postcards
- Soundtrack
The physical edition of the game will be up for pre-order on September 18, but the Anniversary Edition will be quite limited.
Additionally, Dying Light: The Beast players will be able to soak up three weeks of celebratory content, including a double XP event and the ‘Anniversary Edition’ event period. It runs from September 18 and will feature community goals and rewards that players can vote for.
There are also daily drops coming, which players can take advantage of just for booting the game up every day. Also, the Discharge Weapon Pack is coming to all platforms for free from September 17 to 24.
Finally, for those who have yet to invest in Dying Light: The Beast, Techland is hosting the game’s most substantial sale ever. If you buy the game between September 18 and 26, you can lean on a massive 50% discount.
