Techland has published a board packed with metrics from Dying Light: The Beast’s first 12 days on the market. This includes a figure representing the immense number of shamblers decimated by players – 2.28 billion. In a leaderboard stat, it was shown that players from the United States are leading the charge, followed (surprisingly) by gamers from China.
The undead aren’t going down without a fight, though. Another figure showed that 168,933 players have been slaughtered by the zombies that roam Castor Woods.
Big Numbers in Dying Light: The Beast
Collectively, players exploring Dying Light: The Beast have racked up 25.6 million hours played, which makes up for one hell of a destructive run through Techland’s latest open-world zombie-filled adventure.
That includes 19.6 million kilometers travelled by car, 334.7 million zombies run down, and 1.2 million ‘Volatile’ enemies killed.
Players have tossed 23.6 million molotovs, handed out 176.7 million dropkicks, and worked their way through 77.1 million weapons, pushing them past the point of destruction.
Dying Light: The Beast is a stellar title that was released midway through September to a solid reception. I awarded the game top marks in my Dying Light: The Beast review, dubbing it one of the best zombie titles we’ve ever gotten as gamers.
The expectation as we advance is that Techland will announce post-launch content any day now. Fans are anticipating a ‘New Game Plus’ option, as well as a new difficulty level, which is the standard affair for games like this getting updates after they’ve hit the market.
Dying Light: The Beast is a relatively short-form title, but if you’re chasing all the achievements and side content, you’ll be able to put a good 50 hours into the game.
