There is an unfortunate and rising trend of upcoming titles, specifically once-console-exclusive games from PlayStation that require a third-party account to run on PC. We saw it with Helldivers 2, where the community came together to revolt against Sony’s decision. Even today, that decision isn’t fully reversed. But here we are once more. Does Concord require a PSN account on PC?
Do You Need a PSN Account for Concord?
Unfortunately, like with God of War Ragnarok and Until Dawn, users will require a PSN account for Concord once it launches on PC. The upcoming hero shooter will require a PlayStation Network connection on Steam and Epic Games Stores, meaning you can’t play the online-only game if you don’t have a PSN account. There are still more than 120 countries where the PlayStation Network isn’t available. That’s countless millions of players left in the dust yet again.
Unfortunately, following State of Play, Concord proved to be the most lackluster announcement of the bunch. By now, most people find themselves exhausted by hero-based arena shooters, and yet developers keep forcing them out the door. The decision to require a PSN account on PC doesn’t help anyone, especially not the studio behind the game.

What is Concord?
During the first few minutes of the game’s announcement, I thought Concord was a single-player adventure in the same style as Guardians of the Galaxy. Instead, the team revealed a 5v5 arena shooter with hero characters—a PvP-only, frantic first-person shooter focused on social play and semi-competitive gameplay elements.
We’re still learning more about the game, and perhaps it will surprise us in the end, so fingers crossed for something a little more unique!
