CD Projekt Red’s latest earnings call has revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 has sold 35 million unit.
All we have been hearing about in recent days is Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel. We recently saw Keanu Reeves asking the devs to contact him for the sequel. There was also a job listing that suggested an online multiplayer feature for the title. However, today is not about the sequel; it is about the original game that reached a spectacular sales milestone after overcoming many hurdles.
Cyberpunk 2077 Surpasses 35 Million Copies Sold
Thanks to CD Projekt Red’s Q3 2025 presentation, we now know that Cyberpunk 2077 has sold 35 million copies. This number is as of November 26, 2025, and it includes copies of the game sold separately and those included in the Ultimate Edition bundle. CD Projekt Red is currently laying the foundation for Cyberpunk 2 by expanding its Boston team. They expect the developer team to reach 300 developers by 2027; it currently stands at just under 150.
Cyberpunk 2077 hitting this sales milestone is truly an inspirational story for all game developers. Who remembers the game’s state when it was first released in 2020? The title was in the worst possible condition, making it almost unplayable for players and prompting refunds across all platforms. It was all thanks to the devs’ patience and hard work that they were able to bring the title back to life and deliver even more solid content with the Phantom Liberty DLC.
In other news, Cyberpunk 2077’s update 2.31 added AutoDrive and new Photo Mode updates. Additionally, Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2 was officially confirmed at Anime Expo 2025.
