A new entry in the Control series, Resonant, has been confirmed by Remedy Entertainment at The Game Awards 2025. The news comes after a recent trademark was spotted a few weeks ago. Furthermore, it’s coming out in 2026.
Created by Remedy Entertainment (Alan Wake, Max Payne), the Control series is a fairly new series. First released in 2019, the original sci-fi mind-bending title follows new Director, Jesse Faden, as she travels the mysterious Oldest House. After a successful launch, Remedy Entertainment and the game were praised immensely, receiving multiple year-end awards and nominations. A follow-up spinoff, FBC: Firebreak, came out in 2025 to subpar reviews. Still, fans have been waiting to hear more about the adventures of Jesse Faden. Luckily, a new project in the series has been unveiled at The Game Awards.

Control: Resonant, a New Mainline Entry, Releasing in 2026
In the trailer, which aired during The Game Awards, shows some crazy visuals, first shown by a floating guy on stage. The trailer shows a mix of gameplay and cinematics. From the looks of it, the curse of the Old House has slipped through to New York, contaminating everything. From then on, the signature Remedy style resumes, with a new protagonist, from the looks of it. Though, at the end, Jesse is heard and seen, hinting at her possible involvement
Compared to Control, this feels more action-packed, with swordplay and open-air combat. Even still, Control Resonant seems like a great new addition to Remedy’s resume. Furthermore, the game will release in 2026, so fans won’t have to wait long to get into the fun.
