The developers of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 have stated that a photo mode is “very high on the list of things” they want to do for the game.
A photo mode has become a staple in recent games, allowing players to capture and share their own unique experiences in these vibrant worlds. However, some games still get this feature as a post-launch update. The case remains the same with one of the highest-rated games of 2025, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, but the developers have addressed a photo mode in a recent interview.
Spotted by GameSpot, Nicholas Maxon, the art director for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, spoke about the photo mode while speaking to Final Fantasy Union. When asked about the feature, Maxon replied that it is ‘very high on the list of things’ Sandfall Interactive wants to do for the game.
The feature has been “requested a lot” by the community, and even “internally,” people are enthusiastic about working on it. Maxon added that a photo mode is “a lot more work” than some of the other stuff they do for the game, but they “definitely” want to work on it.
At the moment, Sandfall Interactive’s priority is bug fixes to clear up all the small things they keep seeing “popping up from the internet.” At the same time, they also have a list of changes they want to bring to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, such as “the Lumina Loadouts.” They are currently working on it and figuring out when they can bring it to the game.
In other news, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 devs are already considering plans for their next game. Also, the title sold 3.3 million copies in 33 days. Are you looking forward to a photo mode for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33? Let us know below and join the official Insider Gaming forums discussion.
