Like other FromSoftware Soulsborne games, Elden Ring Nightreign features a tutorial boss, and it’s a familiar foe for series veterans.
Elden Ring Nightreign features eight characters, each possessing a unique Passive ability, Character skill, and Ultimate Art. In the tutorial, you play as Wylder, meaning you can revive once after dying, launch a grappling hook to either rope foes in or move swiftly by retracting, and the Ultimate Art launches a powerful iron stake attack.
Wylder is relatively easy to learn, and you get a feel for his abilities while defeating easier enemies and collecting Runes during the short tutorial. But when it comes time for the final battle, is it possible to take down Fell Omen?
Can You Beat The Elden Ring Nightreign Tutorial Boss?

Fell Omen won’t roll over easily, but it is possible to defeat the tutorial boss in Elden Ring Nightreign.
If you do manage to beat the first boss, you get the Fell Omen Fetish Relic, which boosts attack power when switching weapons, improves vigor by one skill point, and improves throwing knife damage. While helpful, the Relic isn’t that much of a difference maker, so it’s ok if you don’t manage to defeat the boss.
Margit the Fell Omen is one of the first bosses you encounter in Elden Ring, and Fell Omen in Elden Ring Nightreign has a similar moveset. If you have the pattern down, it shouldn’t be too challenging to take down the boss.
It also helps that you have an NPC hero who helps out during the fight. The best strategy to defeat Fell Omen is to let Duchess do most of the work and get attacks in while the boss is distracted with them. And if Duchess goes down, you can revive the character by striking them.
How to Restart Elden Ring Nightreign Tutorial
If you weren’t able to defeat Fell Omen the first go around, but still want the relic, there is a way to restart the tutorial and fight the boss again.
- From the Rountable Hold, open up the Map.
- Scroll down and select Visual Codex.
- From the Visual Codex Screen, toggle down and choose Guide.
- Choose Guide once more and press Start to restart the Tutorial.
You will have to fight through all of the other enemies before reaching the boss again, but that only takes around five minutes, so it shouldn’t be too much of a hassle reaching Fell Omen.
